7-13-20 Lord, Be My Truth

Hi Friends,

In order to build a steady and safe home, what is required? A solid, non-moving foundation, right? That is exactly Who Jesus is, listen:

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’” Jn 14:6 NASB

“What is truth?” (Jn 18:38) These words were spoken by Pilate and, sadly, are still spoken by many today, in and out of the Church. Pilate was not seeking truth, he was just mocking Jesus for even bringing up the topic. As some think now, he believed that truth all depended on the individual’s perspective. Is that how you see truth, as something that changes with time, circumstance and person? I hope not. For a Christian, truth should be something that never changes. Like Jesus, it is the same yesterday, today and forever. In fact, Truth is true because it is always true, all the time and for every human that has ever and will ever roam this planet. Truth is steady and secure, like an anchor for our souls. Truth is solid and strong, like a firm foundation for our lives. Truth is…well, Truth is Who Jesus is. It is not only what He says or does, it is WHO He is.

Why does Truth never change? A big part of the Abundant Life is a secure sense that the center of this New Life will always be the same. That no matter how much this world changes, no matter how difficult situations become, no matter who is around us and who is not, God will always be God and God will always Love. Jesus came to bring breath and flesh to the Truth that God so Loves the world. That God planned, from the foundation of the world, to send His only Begotten Son to pay our sin debt. That if we would choose to believe His Son, we will never perish but have everlasting life. This Perfect Love is the Truth and Jesus came to give a human body to this Love. He lives out this Truth. Everything He thinks, says and does is motivated by this deep and everlasting Love. This will never change and this is the Truth we can hold on to with all our hearts. It is the sure and stable foundation that we can build our lives upon. And as Jesus says in Matthew 7, no matter what storm comes our way, we will be able to stand because we are standing on the Rock. This has certainly been my story.

Because God so loves me, I can stand. When my Angel Pie became ill and fell into that first coma, Jesus revealed this Truth to me. As Beckie endured years and years of one horrendous miracle after the other, Jesus kept me growing with this Truth. And since my Baby Girl went Home to be with our Lord, Jesus has kept me steady because of this Truth. My testimony is simply that, even though I did not get what my heart longed for, I still trust God. I still know He loves me. I still know He has a good plan for my life. I still want to tell everyone who will listen about this God Who gave everything so we can personally know The Truth. This relationship is what we were created for, my Friends, and until you at least begin to know The Truth, you will always feel like something…or rather, Someone…is missing from your life. The fulfilling life marked by consistent peace, joy and contentment will always escape you.

Lord, be my Truth. The Way to live is by obeying God. The reason we obey God is because of this amazing Truth, God so Loves you. Sending Jesus to embody God’s Love should be our firm foundation as we move through the storms of this lost world. Again, He is the anchor for our souls and the firm foundation for our lives. This Love of God is The Truth that is true because it is always true, all the time and for every human that has ever and will ever roam this planet. This Truth never changes, oh how I count on that! How about you? Then won’t you join me?

Until we meet again, keep lifting your eyes to God, He’s closer than you think.

<>< Peace, Diane
