One of the major problems with humans is that we assume we know it all…but we could NOT be more wrong, especially when it comes to the way God works. We think we understand why He allows what He does…this is one of the reasons why God was so angry with Job’s three friends. They assumed that Job MUST be guilty or God would never have allowed the great tragedies into his life. They tried to force Job into confessing some kind of horrible sin, when he was righteous and blameless!
As it says in Isaiah 55:8-9, God’s ways and thoughts are SO much greater and higher than ours. To assume we completely understand Him, is to make the All-Powerful, All-knowing and All-mighty God way too small. While we will never know Him completely, we can come to know Him…this requires humility and humility admits, we do NOT know it all!
