The word “our” is vitally important here in the beginning of this amazing prayer. Jesus is trying to remind us that we are supposed to be ONE in Him. We are supposed to live in unity with one another. We are supposed to be in harmony. Even when we do not agree, we are supposed to look out for one another and do whatever is best for each other. This is what “family” is supposed to do. Note all the “supposed to’s”? May God continue to help us see this truth and grant us the desire and power to act on it!
Also, it is like St Paul teaches, we are to be ONE Body with Jesus as our head, but each of us has our own part to play in this family. We are to be faithful in doing our part, but also encourage others to do their part. One of the ways we can do this is to be grateful for each other…if 2020 hasn’t taught us anything else, may it be this!
