Always with us…always! What blessed assurance!
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Dt 31:8 NIV
Don’t be afraid or discouraged. We have talked about these before so I will not go into it again here, you can check out the video links below for more on this topic. But it is exactly because God will never leave nor forsake us that we need not be afraid or discouraged! And when we turn from Him, God will always be prompting us to come back. How? Inevitably, we get into a hot mess apart from Him! Our own foolishness is what will lead us running back into His arms! But even this, God has gone before us and softened any bumps on the road! And whether we acknowledge Him or not, He is with us through any bruises that may come. Moreover, when we do repent, He will heal those bruises too…as He works it all together for our good, because we love Him and are called to His purpose. I have to stick Romans 8:28 in here somewhere!
We are His beloved, holy children. We talked about the “beloved and holy” part yesterday, but let’s never forget we are His children too! Take a look at a group of children if you get the opportunity. There are, of course, wonderful things about being a child. The pure faith, the finding joy in almost any situation (I’m thinking of a child playing with a cardboard box here, what imaginations!) Children also bounce back really quickly too. They might be having a fight with another child one minute and laughing and hugging the next. Ahh what we adults can learn from children! But we cannot forget that children do not know it all, and so they mess up a lot too. This is us! I love the image God gave me about all this, I will share it tomorrow…
