We grow so we can know The Way, and His Voice.
“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Isa 53:6 NIV
So we are sheep who go astray because, either we are not sincerely believers of Christ, or we are still too immature and still enticed by the lies of sin. It is only as we choose to mature in Christ, that we have a fighting chance to stay on the safe path, with the Good Shepherd. How? We learn to discern His Voice above all others. Instead of listening to the crafty lying tongue of that old serpent, we will seek the truth of the Word of God. Instead of looking for answers from this fallen society, we will turn to the only One who has the Solution. Instead of leaning on our own understanding, we will run to God before we make any decisions. The more we know Jesus, the Good Shepherd, the less we will be deceived by those three enemies.
I keep going back to John 3:30 now and again, and here it is once more. Did you see it? The MORE we know Jesus, the LESS we will listen to any other voice. We will know how to follow Jesus because we will recognize His Voice more. There is an awesome video that displays this truth that the sheep do recognize their shepherd’s calling.
