Praise God that we can dwell in His house no matter what is going on around us.
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Ps 23:6 ESV
Dwell. Another meaning for this word is to “think, speak, or write at length about (a particular subject).” As we choose to think about God more and more, bringing Him into every situation we find ourselves in, we are dwelling in His house. We are connecting with God so that He can lead our thoughts, emotions and will, which will then lead to us acting like Him, instead of our old self. We must dwell, live in the Father, with Jesus and through the Holy Spirit. As we choose to think about what God the Father has already prepared for our lives. As we choose to speak the words of Jesus, the Incarnate Word of God. As we choose to allow the Holy Spirit to help us write the story of our lives, we are dwelling in His house. We become real Temples of the Holy Spirit because we will be honoring God with our actions. (1Co 6:19-20)
Let us never forget that this temporary body is His house too, not only our spirit and soul. Yes, our heart must be His. We must find our identity in this amazing relationship with God. Yes, our soul must be His. We must begin to think, feel and will what He thinks, feels and wills. But our physical bodies are to be His too. This means we must learn to take care of this body, to make sure it is as healthy as humanly possible. I know, sadly, many people have illnesses and disorders that cause them to suffer, I get that. Yet it is never too late to make the right changes that can help us be the best ambassadors for Christ as possible. (2Co 5:20) I did a whole set of videos and articles about the “Seven Pillars of Physical Health” last year, you can check them out on this channel or my website. (link below) And as I said then, I will repeat now, whatever better choice we make now, is a better choice we make, and praise God, we will surely sense the goodness of it in one form or another.
