This month we celebrate the most pivotal event in human history, the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We worship the Father Who so loved the world that He sent His one and only Begotten Son to pay the penalty for all our sins, as well as to take away the sinful nature in us that causes these sins. We praise Jesus for His loving, sacrificial death on the Cross which makes it possible for us to be forgiven, redeemed and reconciled to God our Creator, so we may have this wonderful relationship with Him. Yet are we forgetting Someone? While we, rightly, often talk about the Father and always point to Jesus, what about the Holy Spirit? Could this be why so many Christians are still not living the victorious life in Christ that we are supposed to be living?
It was about 20 years ago that I discovered our next “Book Club” entry written by the first Pastor God sent into my path, Dr Charles Stanley, who I lovingly refer to as “Grandpa Charlie.” It opened my eyes to the fact that I never have to have a thought, feel an emotion or act on any desires apart from the insight and the power of the Holy Spirit, guiding me along this journey of Faith. Indeed we are never alone in life, ever again. What a relief!
God has, and continues to use, the wisdom in this godly man to help me grow into a woman of deep Faith, and I know his words will be a blessing to you as well. So this month, let’s focus on the Holy Spirit as we discuss “The Wonderful Spirit Filled Life” by Dr Charles Stanley. I really do hope our talk about this book will set some captives free!
