We have been set free! Hallelujah! Oh how we love singing songs about this Gospel Truth! But do we live it? Not if we do not at least remotely understand the incredible freeing truth we talked about yesterday. In Christ, we are New. Let me say that again: IN Christ…we ARE New. This is the whole point to Salvation. We are not still sinners just trying to be good people. Doing the best we can… to live as happy as we can… for as long as we can. NO! We are New! Everything has changed within us. Now all we need to really do is let God continue to grow, then display, this change within us. This means 1- being aware of the Truth and 2- working with the Holy Spirit.
If you don’t know the truth you will fall for anything. So how do we come to know the truth? We interact with Him. The Truth is God’s Word, both written and Incarnate. The more we read, study and apply the Bible, all with the Holy Spirit’s guidance and assistance, the more we will know the Truth and the Truth will…set us FREE! (Jn 8:32) Free from what? Free from our old self Jezebel that had, and still has, an intimate relationship with sin! That old self is dead. We need to understand our relationships, all of them, have changed so that we will stop bringing that old person back up from the grave.
