Lies We Tell Ourselves

Seeking this habit of being responsible means no more excuses. Mrs Meyer says that excuses are just lies we tell ourselves that keep us in bondage to those bad habits, instead of being set free. Furthermore, she tells us to not allow the circumstances that may have caused us to be a certain way, keep us where we are. If someone has hurt you in the past…and which one of us has not had this happen, whether intentionally or not…please know, in Christ, you can rise above the pain and injustice. If you don’t know Mrs Meyer’s story, I do hope you will do some research about her. If God could heal her heart from that devastating situation and use her mightily for His glory, then He can do the same for any one of us. Again, do not allow the pain of the past continue to cause you to suffer into the future. And stop allowing the enemy to use the past as an excuse to keep you from living free now.

She adds, we either own up to our responsibilities or we’re made accountable later on by the resulting circumstances. For instance, if we refuse to take the responsibility to meet our car payments, later on, as they repo the car, we will be left with a bad situation, won’t we? We must take responsibility for the things we do, as well as the things we ought to do. You know what else is our responsibility as Christians? To show this world Who God is! The darker this world gets, the more desperate it is to see the Light. This world loves to call Christians hypocrites and liars…Mrs Meyer wisely says, at least let’s not earn the title! So let’s go out today, taking this responsibility serious and be the Light for someone.
