The Chosen Brotherhood

Ok just one more thing about this show before we delve into the books. When I began watching The Chosen, it was the first time I had ever heard of “crowd funding.” You see, this project is not funded by any big time studio company. It is funded by you and me…but only if you can afford it, and freely and willingly, desire to contribute. Mr Jenkins is always sure to emphasize that the show is for free, so no one is under any obligation to donate. He also commented that, it is exactly because it is free that so many people are tuning in. Some would not have the funds to pay, while others would never even think of paying to watch a program about Jesus. But since it is free, it is open to every heart…and as I said yesterday, it is also leading so many to Jesus Who then is converting so many of those hearts and changing their Eternity.

Again, no one is under any obligation, yet if you are like me, you will want to be a blessing wherever you have been blessed. As you will see all month, I love their merchandise and have shopped on their “gifts” website many, many times. (see link below) You can also get access to this site and all the great gifts they offer through their free app that I talked about yesterday. How convenient! There are shirts, hats, tumblers, mugs, blankets, DVD’s and CD’s, and of course books, for both adults and children, and also in different languages too. I am sure I missed some things, but it is there where I found and bought the three devotionals I am going to discuss this month.

Mr Jenkins often says that it is not just a matter of having items with The Chosen logo on them, but each piece is an excellent way to communicate without saying a word. I cannot tell you how many people have commented on my shirts, and sometimes, I can sense a brotherhood through that interaction. For example, I actually was wearing one of my The Chosen shirts while in Portugal recently, when I heard a woman cry out to me in English about how much she enjoys the show. We had a lovely conversation about Jesus as she shared her story with me. Brotherhood! We can feel connected to others as we relate about this great show. This sense of camaraderie is one of the many wonderful things this show is bringing about!

While I love the “gift factory,” there is yet another way you can contribute to the spreading of The Chosen, as a tax deductible donation. It is called Come And See Foundation. (there is also link below) Here their mission is to translate each episode into 600 languages, so that every tongue and every nation can learn about our marvelous Lord Jesus. I am not sure if you get it by now, but I absolutely LOVE this show because it centers around the God I continue to fall in love with! Ok, we will get to these great books tomorrow…
