NEW Habits

Because God has made this New Way to live, filled with His New Mercies, we can surrender our lives to Jesus and be given a New Identity which leads to a New Mind. This renewed mind helps us to not only think, feel and will more and more what God thinks, feels and wills, but this causes us to act new also.

Today’s verses: Colossians 3:9-10

“Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practicesand have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.”

It is as if we used to wear an old, tattered, stinky robe before we became born again, but then, in Christ, can choose to put on a new, clean, gleaming robe instead. We remove the old, prideful, MMI person and replace the selfish being with this new, maturing child of God instead. This leads us to form New Habits that align more and more to the way Jesus would act. We begin to display “the image of our creator,” instead of our former fallen and broken self. We begin to practice the Word of God, following His example and are able to love God with all we’ve got and love our neighbor as ourselves. Then we experience the Abundant Life more and more…

It is all linked…do you perceive it?
