To Know is to Grow, But…

We read to gain knowledge of the many different events of the Bible and all the various people of the Bible, as well as to see how God responds to each and every situation that happens. Since God never changes- He is the same today, tomorrow and forever- the way He responded to them, is the way He will respond to us. As we gain this knowledge, it begins our spiritual growth, but we cannot stop there.

The truth is, the Bible is very complex, just like God. It takes time, effort and energy to dig into the “why’s” of the ways God responds…this is why we have to, not only read, but also study the Bible. Studying Gods Word takes us to the next level in our relationship with Him. As we study, we gain insightful understanding about what all the different circumstances in the Bible has to do with our lives, right here, right now. We start to grasp how their situations can affect, influence and empower our own lives today.

We read for knowledge, but we study for understanding. This week I will share some of my study resources with you. I hope you will take the next challenge and use these reliable assets to increase the amount of real peace and joy you experience in your day to day lives. Read and study your Bible…
