The most relieving thing God has told me about who I am in Christ is…that I am a CHILD of God. (see John 1:12) Do you get why that’s such a relief? A child is not someone who is perfect…yet. A child is someone who is still growing, still learning, still maturing, and yes, still messing up. This is not an excuse for us TO mess up, but it is our reality.
It is a relief to understand that God is not upset with me every time I end up straying from His Will. He gets us. We are no surprise to Him. And He gives us room to be children. Again this is no excuse to sin…as if we needed any…but simply knowing who we are in Christ, not perfect in our actions yet, but on our way!
