One of the major benefits of being active is that this motion helps our body detox. We will talk more about this in the pillar called Environment, but we are exposed to anywhere between 80,000 to 100,000 chemicals daily, that need to be processed and eliminated from our bodies daily. We must process toxins from our environment, both outside our bodies, as well as those we produce inside our bodies. Just living produces byproducts that we must get rid of too. A quick example is breathing. We take in life-giving oxygen, and produce carbon dioxide as a byproduct. Of course, if we do not eliminate this from our bodies, it can cause all sorts of problems! So moving keeps everything moving and we are healthier because of it.
Our bodies need to detox, and as I have said, being active keeps everything flowing and flowing is a very good thing indeed…after all no one wants to have arm puffs…more on that tomorrow…
