Tough Choices

We must learn to think on this verse with every decision we make:

“This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live” Dt 30:19 NIV

Ok, I will bring this conversation back to the surface today…unless you are ready to get in really deep, in that case, contact me because I want to be in way over my head when it comes to this walk I am walking with Jesus! I am always looking for those who want to “join me.” Anyhow, when we choose Life, we are choosing to let go of what “I think, I feel, I want” and we are freely willing to seek what God thinks, feels and wants instead. Sometimes this can be really tough, Especially if it is not a choice you want to make! So let’s look at an example from my own life.

I have been teaching Bible study classes at my current church for about seven years. Recently, I began sensing God moving me to end that ministry. At first, I wasn’t sure where those feelings came from. I mean, I love to teach! I was so used to the class routine. I loved the ladies that attended. The last thing I wanted to do was stop. Yet, I kept getting this idea that it was time for me to do something else. Let me tell you, it was a struggle! I thought I should continue, especially because my ladies really wanted me to. I wanted to keep doing what I had been doing. Again, I love to teach so this made no sense…no human sense anyway. But as I prayed…well, let’s finish this up tomorrow…
