I don’t know what to do… but God does. Hear this great prayer again:
“Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
2Chron 20:12 NIV
We humans think we have to know every detail of every single thing that is to happen in our lives. This is not only impossible for us, but it causes us so much stress! We have to surrender to the truth. As the saying goes, we do not have to know it all, we just have to know the One Who knows it all. As we surrender to The Father’s love, we let go of this need to know it all, and this Faith restores our peace and joy.
I get this all too well! For instance, there are so many things in my life right now that I have absolutely NO clue how they will turn out. I can see the problems. I can imagine how I would “fix” them, but the truth is, my way is not The Way. We humans tend to want to just get rid of the problems that come into our lives. We want to be trouble free, and it is fine to pray to God for such things…here King Jehoshaphat cries out for God to judge their enemies who are attacking them without cause. It’s a good prayer to trust God to take care of all our cares and concerns…but there is one that is so much better…we will talk about it tomorrow…
