Again, I Say, ONE Thing!

Listen once again to the simplicity of Salvation:

“Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’” Lk 23:42 NIV

Did I shock you yesterday when I said only one thing is required for us to be saved and it had nothing to do with you or me? Well, this is one of the misunderstandings about Salvation: you and I can do nothing to earn it! Everything that had to be done for Salvation to be available to us has already been done by God. Didn’t we just talk about this a couple of weeks ago? Then this should be good review and confirmation.

Salvation is a work alright, just not ours. It is God the Father who so loves the world that he gave us Jesus to do what we could never do on our own. It is His Grace that chose to sacrifice Himself, in the form of Jesus the Son of God, in our place. We could never live a sinless life. We could never fight every battle and be victorious. We could never defeat the father of lies and lord of flies. But Jesus could, and did! And now we get the Freedom to believe this…or not.
