Say It Right

Let’s add another one of my favorite verses to our list, shall we? This one is often misquoted too, which takes away its power to help us live a more fulfilling life. It is from the awesome Book of James chapter 4 verse 7 and it says: resist the devil and he will flee…oh wait no, that is not what it says! That is however, how many people misquote it all the time! Let’s see what it really says:

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Jas 4:7 NIV

Do you see what I mean about missing the whole power to this truth? If we skip the first part, the rest does not apply because it is only when we obey the first part that we CAN resist the devil and he will flee! There is only one way to get that old serpent, the devil, to run away from us…and the power is not in you or me alone! Let’s delve in this week…
