Our lives are made up of habits, have you ever thought about that? From the moment we are born physically into this world, someone is trying to get us into some kind of routine. Whether that is a tired parent who tries to coax us babies to sleep all night. An overworked teacher who tries to keep us students moving from subject to subject. Or even our own oblivious selves trying to carve out times of relaxation and pleasure, we humans need set times to do set things. This is called living a life of order, and God is not a God of chaos, so we all will form habits and routines. As the saying goes, we form habits, but then those habits form us. If we prioritize spending time with this amazing Lamp/Light, then the rest of our day will conform to the good habits God desires for us. God has a lovely way of rubbing off on us as we prioritize Him and His Word.
The three enemies are all about darkness, have you ever thought about that? The last thing any of them desires is for humans to engage with God’s Word. Their lies and corruption and pridefulness will be exposed for the evil they are, and we just might be tempted to run to God so He will transform us from darkness to light. Devil forbid! It is only with Light that we can fight these three enemies, because the Light points us to Truth and you know what Truth does, right? It sets us free! I certainly can use more of that in my life!
