One of the amazing things about God’s Grace is that it truly changes the person we used to be into someone new. Someone who has a new eternal destination, for sure. This can only be a gift from God for we humans do not have the ability to pull that miracle off. Yet God’s Grace changes us here and now, as well. Or it should. For this reason I think it is vital that every believer learn more deeply what it means to be living under God’s Grace. What is it and what does it do?

Mr Lucado begins chapter one with some really good quotes. Since we talked about this revolutionist briefly yesterday, here is a quote from Martin Luther, “Should anyone knock at my heart and say, ‘Who lives here? I should reply, ‘Not Martin Luther, but the Lord Jesus Christ.” You see, once we become this New Creation in Christ, we never live alone, ever again. Our spirit, soul and body do not belong to us anymore. We are His. And we need to learn to be His wholeheartedly. This means learning to think like He does, making sure our thoughts are uplifting and set on the things of God, not focused on this world. This means learning to use our emotions selflessly, to drive us towards righteousness and away from that MMI mentality. And this means aligning our will to that of God’s Holy Will, more and more, so that we can love Him with all we’ve got and love our neighbor as ourselves. Life is not about “me” anymore…remember the last book we studied together from Mr Lucado? And when life becomes less about me, it automatically becomes more about God’s Grace, receiving it and then giving it away. That is the Abundant Life!
