This is such a good verse:
“Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and set his face to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.” 2Chron 20:3 ESV
So how did I begin speaking with more confidence and enjoyment? This other wise woman answered my question this way, “Well, you can choose to think of it as being nervous or being excited.” Wow! You see it is the same energy, but seeing it as something helpful instead of harmful, makes the difference of whether I was going to react to the fear of speaking publicly or respond to my Faith in God to help me do it anyway. Faith or fear. One adds to our life, the other desires to take away from our life.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that fear is a big part of the enemy’s strategy. He seeks to do whatever he can to keep us in the prison of fear where we will not mess with his evil plans and his false kingdom. He wants us to react instead of respond- to choose death instead of life. He knows that remaining in fear, apart from God, all by ourselves, is a complete waste of our time, energy and attention. Perhaps we never thought of this this way? Once again, it is knowing the truth that sets us free, my Friends. Let’s encourage each other today by leaving a comment below about a time when you overcame fear and enjoyed life fuller, in spite of it. We’ll wrap this up tomorrow.
