As we choose to be more active, we are investing in our health. Just like with money, there are three things we can do with our time: 1- waste it, 2- spend it or 3- invest it. Making life choices now is an investment in our lives that will always reap all sorts of benefits…but not just for ourselves.
The more active we are, the healthier we become and the better ambassador for Christ we are too. (2Co 5:20) We reflect Him more and more when we make these good decisions that lead us towards optimal health. There was certainly nothing passive about the life of Jesus. As He walked this earth, He went around healing and preaching, but that required Him to physically walk around. He was active and healthy in every possible way: spirit, soul and body. And as we choose to be active, we are imitating and displaying Him to the world around us.
Not only do we glorify God more, but of course, WE reap the great results of being healthier. The truth is God’s Will will be done, but whether we enjoy it or not is a whole other story. The healthier we are, the more we can connect to God and work with Him as we live the life He always wanted us to live. (Eph 2:8-10)
So not only are we honoring God and being blessed ourselves, but then hopefully, we can bless others too. We can be an inspiration to others who may be struggling just like we are. We can show them, with God, all things are possible. Everyone wins as WE choose to make better health choices, like leading an active life.
