So I am introducing you to a new Bible verse each Monday and hoping you will join me in taking that whole week to memorize each one. Hopefully by the end of the year, we will have added 52 arrows to our quiver. What do I mean? Well, we cannot fight our real enemy unless we can pull out a weapon to defend ourselves with, right? For instance, let’s see our next verse, which is one of my most powerful arrows. It is from the Book of Philippians, chapter 4 verse 13:
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Php 4:13 BSB
First, if you are wondering, BSB stands for Berean Study Bible. Here’s some bonus information, you can read about the Bereans in the Book of Acts chapter 17:10-12. These were hungry students of the Bible who received what Paul was teaching, but then examined Scriptures for themselves to see if it was indeed truth, and then as they interacted with God’s Word, they believed. I hope we can all be like these very wise people.
Second bonus, like me, you can use the Bible Hub website (link below), among others, to see dozens of different translations of the same verse, and this one is my favorite because it helps me understand more completely what Paul is teaching us here. Ok on to the beginning of our lesson.
Can I do all things that I feel like doing, when I want to do them, the way I want to do them, and all in my own strength? Of course that is NOT what it says, but do we sometimes we act like this is what this mighty verse is saying? Like the Bereans, we will start examining this Scripture more deeply tomorrow…
Notice: I get NO compensation for sharing this site, but I do get a lot of pleasure from knowing others want to study God’s Word too and will use this site!
