Hi Friends,
Many people think of Christianity as a religion and I understand why, but it is SO much more than that. If Christianity was only about religion, it would be empty and lifeless. No real, lasting change would come to anyone, and so, there would be no point to it. Being a Christian centers around following the Person of Christ, but to follow Him, we must know Him personally and intimately. There is nothing wrong with religion, we need a formal orderly way to worship our God, pray together as one Church and to learn from the Bible. Yet at the core of Christianity is a relationship with God our Father through the life, death and resurrection of God His Son in union with the indwelling presence of God the Holy Spirit. Christianity is about an ever growing and deepening relationship with the One Who created everything that is seen and unseen. It is this amazing relationship that prompts and empowers us to transform into the likeness of Jesus, so that we can have peace and joy no matter what. The more love we receive from this connection, the more love we have to give to Him and everyone else around us, including to ourselves. We begin with this inspirational vertical friendship with God, then we CAN have healthy, vibrant relationships with others in our lives. In the end, Christianity is a way of life…actually it is The Way, The Truth and The Life…and for those of us who have surrendered our lives to Jesus as Lord and Savior, nothing less will ever satisfy. Seek Him today and begin the most crucial and awesome relationship you will ever have…you will never regret it!
Until we meet again, keep lifting your eyes to God, He’s closer than you think.
<>< Peace, Diane
