Believe, but keep living your own life? Does this make any sense at all?! Let me give you an example, if I told you that I have already paid all your debt and I opened up a bank account for you and deposited 10 million dollars in it that you can use whatever way you choose, would you change the way you lived your life? And what if I also said, the moment you use any of the money, I will replenish it so that you will never run out of money. Would that cause you to start making some real changes in your life? Well, how about if I added this crazy addition and said, not only all that, but I will add interest into your account if you choose to use the funds responsibly, to bless others as well as enjoy your life. Will that make those changes you make a little less selfish? If you believe me, if you trust what I am saying is truth, I certainly hope you would become a whole different person, being blessed and being a blessing. My Friends, how much more precious is what God did for us?!
Debt free. If you have surrendered your Life to Jesus as Savior and Lord, then you are not only free from the penalty of sin, but you are also free to live a life that reflects this reality. And if we truly believe this, then there will be a difference in our lives. Here is our “verse to remember” this week, from the awesome Book of James, chapter 2 verse 19:
“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder.” Jas 2:19 NIV
If you truly believe, where’s the evidence?
