The first thing Mrs Meyer reminds us is that we must expect God to bring about changes, because if we do not believe He will, then He won’t. Not because He cannot, but because we will not cooperate with the changes He desires to bring into our lives. As I have said many times, God will not force change on us. We must choose to work with God. Yet He would rather have an immature child than to have a lost one, so He rarely pressures us into transformation. Once we are His, He will gently prompt us along, but He will not obligate us to change.
Expecting change, though, is us working with God by using our Faith. We choose to trust that God can, and will, help us mature so that our lives here can be filled with peace and joy, no matter what is going on around us. He will meet us where we are, but since He desires us to be more like Him, this requires we change! God will provide the strength, the opportunities, the insight, the resources and so on, but if we do not expect change, then what we have, is what we are going to get!
