“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Eph 2:10 NIV
We are blessed to be a blessing…then when we do these good works, we are blessed again! What’s that saying? “What goes around, comes around.” Well, in this case, that is a very good thing indeed! And this is God’s plan all along. Again, this requires that we are actively participating in doing these good works. We are looking for others to bless as we go about our day. But here is the truth about our amazing God, even if we happen to be in one of those MMI states, He can still use us to do good works.
Let me give you an example. Many years ago, around Christmas time, my son, Joshua, was going to be in a school play. He needed, of all things, a pair of white jogging pants, but had forgotten to tell me until the day before the show. Now I try to avoid the mall at any cost during this holy season because, well, shoppers are all over the place and I can do without the chaos. But here we had no choice, so off to the mall we went. After looking around with no luck, we were about to go down the escalator and back home to figure out what to do. I was very frustrated and not in a very good mood at all. It was one of my many MMI moments, I hate to say. So still wrapped up in my own little pity party, out of the corner of my eye, I saw…well, I will finish up the story tomorrow, see you then….
