There are some verses in the Bible that are so simple to understand that there should not be anything left to say about them. This week’s “verse to remember” surely fits that category, yet talk about it I will, because it is such a vital verse to understand; not only for our own assurance, but so we can then share it with those who are not so sure about their Salvation. This week we will stay in 1John, but move on to chapter 5 verse 12. Listen to its simplicity:
“Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1Jn 5:12 NIV
Can it get any less complicated than this? Yet we humans complicate everything, don’t we? Let’s make this truth a solid fundamental in our hearts, so that we do not question our eternal destiny and we can make the Good News as simply as possible for others to not question it either.
