Do we really know what joy is? As Christians, we must understand there is a huge difference between happy and joy. So what is the definition of “happy”? We sense happiness when everything is going “our” way. When others are treating us well, when there seem to be no big challenges in our lives, when all our bills are paid, work is moving along smoothly…you get the idea.
Happy is a circumstantial thing. It revolves around all the people and situations around us, outside of us. Happy is also momentary. It does not last because these “outside” things are constantly changing. One moment things are going well, but then the next, they might not. Joy is something completely different…let’s talk about it tomorrow…
