1- Belt of Truth: God loves me
2- Breastplate of Righteousness: because God loves me, He has made me in right standing with Him
3- Shoes of Peace: because God loves me and He has made me in right standing with Him, I can walk in peace with Him
4- Shield of Faith: because God loves me and He has made me in right standing with Him and I can walk in peace with Him, I can trust God no matter what
5- Helmet of Salvation: because God loves me and He has made me in right standing with Him, I can walk in peace with Him and I can trust God no matter what, so I will line up my thoughts, emotions and will with His.
Why would we want to live life making decisions based on ourselves only since we are such limited creatures? Would it not be better to turn to God and His Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent power to guide us throughout life instead?
Problem is, we are so used to walking around all day asking ourselves, “What do I think, feel and want?” which makes our lives self-centered and unfulfilling because that is NOT why we were created. It is as we grow in Christ that we begin that shift to “What does God think, feel and want,” and life gets more and more satisfying. The more we align our soul with His, the more we will trust and obey and the more we will experience true Life overflowing with peace, joy and righteousness in the Holy Spirit. That’s the Abundant Life, and that’s what God desires for us.
