As we grow, we begin to display this new spirit by living with more peace and joy, which points others to the Source of our transformation, so they too can get a new heart.
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” Eze 36:26 NIV
Please note this verse does not say, go out and get a new heart…all on your own… you go figure it out. No! God says HE will GIVE us a new heart. All we have to do is receive it. And once we have this new heart, we must go to Him to see how it works. Have you ever been given a new techno-gadget but have no idea what to do with it? You had to go to someone, whether on YouTube or wherever, to learn how it is supposed to function, right? Well what is more valuable, more important, more pivotal than Life? We too must seek the One Who created Life and begin to learn how to live and move and have our being in Him. (see Acts 17:28)
Everlasting Life is to be lived much different than our old, MMI life. It is often completely opposite of the life we have been taught to live. If we want to be first, we must be last. That means if we really want to be a leader then we must learn to serve others, not to seek to be served by others. If you want life, you must give your life away. That means we can no longer live by our own personal agendas, but must begin to live by God’s Holy Will. You see? The focus is no longer on MMI. It is being firmly placed on the only One Who know it all, is stronger than it all put together and is always at our side as we seek to walk in His Way. We must become more like God and see events through the eyes of Eternity, not just one moment at a time. There is a bigger, more beautiful, more excellent picture, My Friends, and the more we choose to connect with God, the more He will begin to mold this new heart of flesh.
