I Can

This is a simple one to memorize…and powerful too:

“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Php 4:13 BSB

So the verse starts out with “I can do all things,” but if you stop there, you miss the entire point of this New Life: Christ! It is only through Christ that we can do anything good. But as we grow spiritually, as we abide in Jesus by focusing our mind, emotions and will on Him, we really can do ALL things because He will give us strength. So with this truth as our foundation, let’s break this verse down.

“I can.” Here is a statement that way too many of us hear the opposite of in our thoughts, right? “I can’t do that because it will hurt, I will fail, no one will like me…,” oh fill in the blank, because the excuses the enemy hands us are endless! The last thing the evil one wants is for us to get a taste of victory by doing something we thought we could never do. Please understand I am NOT patting myself on my own back with what I am going to share here. Again, I am firmly grounded on the FACT that I cannot do anything good on my own. I need the resources, the strength, the insight and so on of my Lord in order to have done, and continue to do, any good in this world. But here is just a short list of things I never thought I could do, but by the Grace of God, I did them all, and I did all of these in the crazy year of 2020: create my own website, write a book and get it published, learn how to record, edit and post audio files for my weekly articles, as well as do the same for these videos for this Got A Minute? ministry. I am not tech savvy at all, ya’ll! But God continues to point me to the right sources and here we are. I did what I never thought I could do.

And might I dare to mention all the things I did for my Baby Girl when she was sick all those years? I won’t because I don’t want you to think I am bragging. Again I am fully grounded on the fact that there is no way, apart from the strength of Jesus, that I could have done any of it. God will do the same for your “I can’t’s” too. Then you can join me in saying, “Go ahead enemy, tell me I can’t and watch me succeed in Christ!” Hal-le-lu-jah!
