When we make God’s Word the center of our lives, life automatically becomes abundant because it is God’s Word that gives us a more satisfying life.
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Heb 4:12 NIV
God’s Word serves as a judge of what we hold in our heart. How we view God. How we see ourselves. How we perceive this world and life itself. All these attitudes are held in our spirit and, as I have been saying all week, these beliefs within us (our spirit) will direct our soul- how we think, feel and will- which will impact our actions- how we speak and act towards ourselves and others. It all starts in the heart, and God’s Word alone is the scalpel in our Divine Physician’s loving hands that will cut through all the false impressions life has left on our heart.
If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, won’t you do so today? Simply choose to believe that we are sinners, doomed to pay the penalty of sin, which is death, and spend all eternity apart from God’s Love, Light and Life. But God so loved you that He sent Jesus to pay that price for you. If you believe in your heart and confess with your lips that Jesus is your Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit will come join your dead spirit and give you Life Everlasting. Then, from that moment into Eternity, you will have life and begin to have it in abundance here.
If you have already made this decision for Jesus, then won’t you please, make God’s Word a part of your daily life? Apart from it you will continue to live a half-hearted, and thus less satisfying life, because you are not allowing It to perform the surgery we all so desperately need. Let God’s Word be alive and active in your life. Let God’s Word both protect you from the new lies of the devil, as well as expose and cut out any old ones. Let God’s Word help you discern the attitudes of your heart so that you can gain a higher perspective of the value God has placed on you. God so loves you, my Friend. Let His Word convince you of this truth more and more, then live it out in victory before all mankind…because hopefully, they will want that for themselves too!
