My Friends, please don’t wait another day, find your gift(s) and start using them as soon as possible. Having an occupation can help you serve joyously, but a vocation will spread that joy all around and will remain even when we no longer do. One of the human heart’s desires is to live forever, well this is one way to leave this lasting legacy, and it is the very best way. Occupations can bring worldly, temporary, limited material success…and if we choose to use it all to bless others and point to God, that’s awesome. But if the focus is still money and stuff, it will always be lacking in fulfilling our lives to the max.
But if we discover our vocation, if we begin to live to point to God, if we seek to leave a lasting legacy by using our gifts, not just talents, then the Abundant Life overflows in us, and from us, spreading God’s Love and Peace and Joy and Patience and Kindness and Goodness and Faithfulness and Gentleness and Self-control. (Gal 5:22-23) We display this Fruit of the Spirit which are the character traits of God and who we were always meant to be too. If you really want to be successful in this world, and the next, then continue with your occupation, but please find, and use, your vocation.
