God does not enable us. He empowers us. Yes, He helps us with everything, but quite frankly, we NEED help with everything! God is Faithful to do His part, which we cannot do, then He teaches, encourages, prompts, and even urges us at times to do our part, which He will not do for us.
It is good, right and noble to desire to help others. This is part of what we were created for, to love others whichever way they NEED to be loved. But to love someone, the way God loves, means we know when to step in…and when to bud out!
We are commanded to carry the burdens others cannot carry on their own, but we are to teach, encourage, prompt and even urge them to carry their load which they should be responsible to manage. Our love becomes distorted and unloving when we try to do their part for them.
True love adds to the lives of others, it never takes away from their well being. It uplifts, not pushes them aside. I think we need to explore the motives behind why some people do become doormats…more tomorrow.
