Let’s get to the verse I mentioned last week. I think most of us are familiar with 1Corinthians chapter 13, especially if you are married, as it is such a popular reading at most weddings. It is known as “the Love chapter” since Paul is attempting to teach us what godly love is all about. The first few verses explain that, even if we can do all sorts of amazing things and be overly generous in our deeds, if our motivation is not love, then it is all useless. It will not have a lasting impact on this world or on anyone’s heart. Then Paul spells out some incredible attributes that define the kind of love that reflects God’s Love. Yet in the end of it all, there are three virtues that should rule over everything we think, say and do. Listen to 1Corinthians 13 verse13:
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.”
1Co 13:13 NIV
Nothing is greater than Love because Love is the whole point to it all! Choosing to be in a loving relationship with our Creator, and then, learning to nurture loving relationships with others is Life. Faith leads to Hope, which leads to Love. Let’s talk about it this week.
