Last week we touched on the subject of condemnation again. As we said, condemning someone is talking about the person themselves. We are, in essence, saying that the person is no good. That there is nothing they could do to change this fact. And that the person should be dispensed with, because they have no value. This is the lie the devil wants us to believe. This is the lie the devil wants us to live by. And this is the lie he still tries to convince us of even after we have become born again. Don’t let him!
The truth is, it is only because each human being is made in the image of God that any of us have any worth at all. Next time you begin to question your value, gaze upon the Cross! The Father so loved you that He sent Jesus to take your place and pay your debt, so that you could be with Him forevermore. That is how much God values you! The problem is, we too often get our WHO and DO confused. This week let’s focus on this freedom Jesus has granted every believer, then next week, we will really distinguish between who we are and what we do. The difference between the two will help us live according to this freedom we already have in Christ. Here is our “verse to remember”:
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” Ro 8:1 NIV
Oh, as we allow this truth to filter deeper and deeper into our heart, this Freedom becomes more and more real, which makes this life more and more abundant!
