Not a Matter of Salvation

Please listen closely to what I am about to say. The life choices we are going to start discussing, these simple things we can implement into our lives to be as healthy as we possibly can, are not a matter of Salvation. We cannot “lose” Heaven because we make poor health choices, nor can we “earn” Heaven by making good life choices. There is only One Way to have Eternal Life and that is simply “by God’s Grace, through our Faith.” This speaks about a holy relationship with our God Who has already done everything  required to grant us Salvation. All we have to “do” is humbly lift up our Faith to Him, trusting that all He says, all He did and all He offers is true. As we do this, and surrender our life, our way, our ideas and so on, to Jesus as our Savior…because we cannot save ourselves…and as our Lord…because we are choosing to live by His Grace instead of our effort…then Heaven is ours. From that moment on, God calls us His beloved, holy children and we GET to go to Paradise when our time here is done.

No, what we DO is not a matter of Salvation, but it IS a matter of Sanctification. If we truly have become born again, then we must choose to live differently than we used to live. If we just begin to understand the Love of the Father, the Sacrifice of the Son, and the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, then we will WANT to grow and make life choices more and more, and of course, this includes our physical health too.

Again I urge you to receive this Truth: if you are a child of God, then your Eternity is secure in Christ. Because you and I cannot earn Heaven, there is nothing we can do, or not do, to lose it either. We are given the gift of Eternal Life because of what Jesus did. Salvation is not dependent on us…but if we are saved, then we should show our gratitude by living the way God desires us to live. That means choosing Life, not death. Blessings, not curses. (Dt 30:19)
