Oh how I love this verse:
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1Pe 5:7 NIV
So 1- Be aware. 2- Pray. And requirement number 3? Is to obey God. First we obey by trusting Him with all of our anxieties. That means all our questions. All of life’s unknowns. All of the things we cannot control…which is so much more than any of us like to admit, right? Then once we have surrendered the issue to Him, whatever it is, God will lead us to do whatever it is we are supposed to do. This will lead to God either fixing the issue, or helping us move forward in spite of it.
One of the things we must be willing to do on this journey of life is not get a resolution to the problem that is causing us anxieties. Yeah I know, this is the really hard part. We humans tend to want God to deliver us FROM every hard circumstance, instead of transform us IN those circumstances. Here’s a truth: those situations that make us crazy will be temporary because this life here is temporary. But the character God is building in us through them, because of them, again in spite of them, that will last forever. So as we grow in Christ, we have to ask ourselves, “What is more important to me: to be delivered from problems or to be transformed from my old sinful self?” We will wrap it up tomorrow…
