As God trains us up, His way becomes second nature.
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Pr 22:6 ESV
When things become second nature, everyone wins! We have more peace and joy because silly things, like bread crumbs, will not control our life. Others notice our uncommon attitudes and want that level of peace and joy also. And of course, God is glorified as we reflect His Nature versus our old one. Everyone wins. And this growth becomes WHO we are, so we will automatically continue to act according to this righteousness more and more. Anyone who has done any type of training knows this is true…remember tying those shoelaces? So if we know this, why do we, Church, not apply this in our spiritual walk with Christ?
I will tell you why: Pride. It is the root of all evil. And the reason this is true is because Pride is the nature of the devil. I once was talking to God about the Holy Trinity- Father, Son and Holy Spirit- and He was teaching and that we humans have a trinity too: spirit, soul and body. Then because I am a smart aleck, I asked Him, “Does the devil have a trinity too?” To which He quickly answered, “Yes: Me, Myself and I, because that is the only person he is ever concerned with!” Now you see where I get this MMI stuff from! Pride, that mentality that life should revolve around me, and that anything or anyone that wants to change that, must be dismissed, this Pride stops us from working with God, growing in Christ and submitting to the Holy Spirit, so we can resist and win every battle. But there is one thing that cures this horrible disease. Leave a message below if you know what it is.
