Once we surrender our lives to Jesus, not only receiving Him as our Savior, but also making Him our Lord, then we should be only living for God. There should be no such thing as a secular life and a spiritual life. We are now New Creations in Christ. We are now supposed to be walking and living by the Spirit’s guide, not our fallen Flesh anymore. Again, we are humans and we are going to fail, so this takes growth. We have to mature in Christ, to become more and more like Him. We have to think like He does, that means being self-LESS, instead of our old prideful, MMI-centered thoughts. We have to use our emotions to drive us towards good, not allowing them to get out of control and have a fit every time something doesn’t go our way. And we are supposed to align our will to that of our Loving Father, Who really does know best.
God knows best because He sees life through an eternal lens while we view life from our tiny little self-centered perspective. This is another reason why we should lean on the Holy Spirit to use both our talents and gifts the best way possible. In a way that will bring us contentment, will bless those around us and will glorify our amazing God who trusts us with all these aptitudes. Hmmm…God trusts us, let’s talk about that next week…
