On this month when many in this world are celebrating ghouls and goblins, I want to point us to an important event that happened this time of year in the Christian realm. It is known as Reformation Day, where we celebrate believers coming back to the heart of God and His Word. October 31,1517 is the date that Martin Luther is believed to have posted his Ninety-five Theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany which caused a Christian revolution and altered forever the way people viewed religion and interacted with God. So as others may be focusing on candy, scary decorations or inappropriate costumes, let’s join together and wish everyone a “Happy Hallelujah” as we dig in deeper into God’s Amazing Grace.
Yes, Grace. We know it is amazing, and rightly so, yet do we really understand the magnitude of this incredible, free gift? This month that I am calling “Reformation of Our Hearts,” as our next entry into our “Book Club,” I will be discussing another one of my favorite author’s books. It is simply titled “Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine” by Max Lucado. Let’s make the time to develop an extraordinary sense of how intense God’s Love for us is, and let’s marvel that He desires to pour out His Goodness on us. All we really need to do is humbly receive His Grace.
