We are a hot mess, my Friends! But if you have surrendered your life to Jesus, the Good News is we are HIS hot mess! As Author and Finisher of our journey here in this world and beyond, it becomes God’s responsibility, and pleasure, to bring us back to that precious state of peace. On the other hand, if you have not surrendered your life, it is still your responsibility to do so, and since peace depends on the ever changing circumstances of life, nothing is steady and consistent, so a state of peace for any length of time is a huge challenge. Do you see why life apart from God is so impossible?
Again apart from Christ, peace depends on situations and how we perceive them. In this world you will have trouble…those are the words of Jesus! But when we are with Jesus, we can take heart because He has already overcome the world. (Jn 16:33) That means He has already made a way for us to have peace, even when life is hard. As we grow in Christ, we learn to focus on Him and the good He is working together, instead of all the negative things that may be happening. In this way, we can have peace even when things are still being worked together for our good. We end up having peace for ourselves, and hopefully, for others too…more tomorrow…
