As we saw yesterday, relaxation has everything to do with Freedom…and this Freedom is exactly what Jesus has given us. When we surrender our lives to Him as Savior, the Holy Spirit becomes one with our spirit and brings every fruit and gift we will ever need to live a full life, with increasing relaxation. Another word for relaxation, of course, is peace, but the peace Jesus offers us is so much greater than what this world thinks of as peace.
In this world, we have peace when everything is going “our” way. When no one is giving “us” a hard time. When “we” have everything we think we need and want. Then peace is attainable. This worldly “peace” is based on circumstances which are always changing. But with Jesus, we can have peace no matter what is going on! In the midst of our most painful challenge, peace can not only be real, but it can give us the power to do whatever we must, to get through the situation. God’s Peace is powerful!
