The Abundant Life is not so much about worldly things, although it can certainly involve them. But it is more about living life the way God originally intended. Here’s this week’s Bible verse to memorize, and it’s one of my very favorites. It is from the Gospel of John, chapter 10, verse 10. Listen to the words of Jesus, our King:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” Jn 10:10 ESV
As I said last week, our very real, and very evil enemy has one agenda all day long, every day: to steal, kill and destroy. He wants to steal our peace by bringing as much chaos into this world and our lives as possible. He wants to kill our joy because he knows the Joy of the Lord is our strength. He wants to destroy our witness so that no one else will want to come to Christ, or walk deeper with Him, because of our poor attitudes. Let’s unwrap his tactics and hold on to the promise of Jesus in this lovely verse this week, so that this true enemy will lose his false power over us.
