Receive the blessing by choosing to humbly believe what God has said and done. That’s called using Faith, so believe this verse:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Mt 5:3 NIV
Have you ever tried buying a cart full of groceries with empty pockets? That means no credit cards or anything else either? How would that go for us? Not well at all, my Friends. But now, how about if we were children of the owner of the store? We would be able to walk right out, no questions asked, right? Same concept here. If we are still trying to pay for our sin, when we got nothing with which to pay for it, then it will NOT go well for us. But if we choose Humility instead of Pride, if we choose to trust God’s Love instead of our own pointless efforts, then we have been forgiven all our sin debt- passed, present and future. It is almost like Jesus is standing right by our side and every time we get into debt by sinning, we look to Him and He says, “I already paid for that, so you are free to go.”
Now this in NO WAY means we can go around sinning all we want. As a matter of fact, if that is your mentality, then perhaps you need to have a serious talk with God to see if you are born again or not! (see Romans 6:1-2) The whole transformation that happens at Salvation is that we no longer WANT to sin! We WANT to please God. Of course this “want to” is in our spirit and that is why we have to work out our Salvation through Sanctification…boy, I do hope you are seeing how all verses I am choosing are working together! So we are forgiven, but we do not want to sin anymore…but we still will sin because we are children who still mess up. This is our reality, but this hopefully keeps us humble!
