Praise God, with His help, we can learn to dwell in His house and reflect Him to those around us.
Ok, today, let’s recite the entire Psalm 23, but then commit it to memory forevermore.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” PS 23 ESV
We have been working on this amazing Psalm for the last three weeks, and I believe it is well worth our time and effort. It’s a good idea to keep every verse you want to memorize in a file on your phone somewhere, or if you are old school, then pull out those index cards and carry them around. I like to go over these verses when I am standing in the checkout line, or waiting for my doctor’s appointment, which is always an hour late, ugh! Or any other time I have in between things to get these Holy Words inside of me, so that God’s Word truly is active and powerful in my life…so no excuses, my Friends! We have the time to memorize powerful verses like these, but we must want to carve out this time in our schedule. Question is: do we truly believe our Good Shepherd is worth our time and effort?
