One of the many…many, many…times I messed up, I remember God quickly speaking to me in my spirit. He said, “How dare you speak about My Child that way!” I believe He was trying to grab my attention and show me what I was doing to myself. He wants us to understand that, if we are beating ourselves up, then we are not connecting with Him, so we cannot receive the Mercy we need and crave. If we are MMI-centric then we are not uniting with the Holy Spirit because “ME” is the focus of our hearts instead of God.
But when we do receive God’s Mercy…not His ok, but His Mercy…then we can learn and grow from the thing we did wrong. We can humble ourselves, pray, seek His Face and turn away from our wickedness, so we can move forward in our journey of transformation. (2Chron 7:14) This frees us to love God with all we’ve got and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. (Luke 10:27) This is what God wants for His children…but it is the last thing the enemy wants!
MMI = Me, Myself and I
