Jesus is our Prince of Peace who generously offers us peace 24/7. All that is left is for us to receive it…again, this is a process. But the more mature we become in Christ, the more we understand that peace is not based on circumstance. Peace is based on Him. And He is always steady, consistent, the same yesterday, today and forever.
So if God said He loves us, then He loves us whether we are acting righteous or acting like the old fool we used to be! If God said He will never leave us nor forsake us, then He will be with us in good times and in hard times. If God said we are His, for all eternity, then He will hold us, even when we are falling apart. All of this should give us peace.
It is human to go through phases, we ebb and flow as we grow in Christ. But what helps us to come back to God is this peace of knowing He will never change…but then again, He doesn’t have to change because He is already Perfect. You and me, on the other hand, well, more tomorrow…
