It is important for us to read the Bible to gain knowledge about the people, events and watch how God deals with all of them. It is vital that we study the Bible to gain understanding of what all that knowledge has to do with our lives here and now. But it is critical that we apply what we are learning or else we are only getting head knowledge that makes no difference in our lives. What’s the point to that?!
Again, what’s the point of reading and studying if we are not going to apply any of it? It’s like buying a big, beautiful house, but never living in it. Or cooking a delicious meal, but never eating it. It does us, and those around us, absolutely NO GOOD if we do not take the knowledge and understanding and make it real in our lives by living it out.
Applying the Bible displays God’s Wisdom and changes the way we experience life, leading us to an increasing amount of the Abundant Life…and this is what God created us for, to live to the full, in, with and through Him and then displaying His Wisdom to the world around us. We make the invisible God, clearly visible as we apply His Word.
